"Migration"
We heard big noisy sound from the sky in the morning three weeks ago.
We dashed out of the house, and found out what the sound came from.We saw a large crowd of sand cranes that flew to the north.
They just started to make "L" style formation, some formation lost it's shape.
We say "crane sing"(it means authority power)in Japanese. It was true, they have authority power in their voice and made very noisy song altogether. I think that small birds sing more beautiful song than big ones. Kind of big birds like cranes, they sound like junior high-school brass band members practicing their wind instruments disturbingly.
It was a usual custom scene in Gainseville in the spring. The cranes came to the swamp which located in the south of Gainseville in the winter, and go back to the north area in spring.
I saw a crane that flew opposite direction. I wonder it lost it's group or forget something in the swamp...It was so funny, I felt that I saw myself in that bird as a careless person.
We have a folktale "The crane repay for person's kindness" in Japan. I wonder I can write a folktale titled "Turn back of a crane"
I wonder how many cranes were in the sky? I have no composure to count them, but I think there were 200 to 400 cranes in the sky. It is called "migration". It is good for us that they migrate in the morning. If they migrate in the night, we had to sit up all night and maybe we made a claim to cranes.
